Ulf Schlichtmann is Chair Professor for Electronic Design Automation at Technical University of Munich (TUM) since 2003. Before 2003, he spent about 10 years in various engineering, management and executive positions at Siemens Semiconductor and Infineon Technologies. From 2008-2011, he was Dean of TUM’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Ulf currently also serves as vice chairman of TUM’s Academic Senate and as a member of the Board of Trustees of TUM. He is a member of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering where he is spokesperson for ICT, as well as a number of private and public advisory boards. Since 2021, Ulf in addition is CEO of TUMCREATE, TUM’s research center in Singapore.
His research addresses Electronic Design Automation broadly, with a particular emphasis on the design of robust and reliable systems. He also researches design methodologies for emerging technologies such as silicon photonics and microfluidic biochips.
