Prof. Dr. Chang CHEN is the Guangci Professor Laureate and Founding Director of the Institute of Medical Chips at Ruijin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Founder of Shanghai Photonic View Technology, and Adjunct Professor at SIMIT and Shanghai University School of Microelectronics. He received his B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2006) from Zhejiang University, and Ph.D. from KU Leuven and imec in Belgium (2011). He was a FWO Postdoc (2011-2014) and then a Senior Researcher (2014-2019) at imec, and a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University (2013-2014), Director/Deputy Chief Engineer at SITRI (2019-2022). His current research focuses on the interdisciplinary convergence of biotechnology and information technology (BTIT), specializing in the miniaturization and chip-based integration of scientific instruments and medical devices using silicon-based chip technologies, such as non-invasive detection, DNA data storage, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), and gene sequencing. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal papers in ACS Nano, Adv. Mater., Agnew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., Nano Lett., Nat. Commun., Nat. Metab., Nucleic. Acid. Res., Small, etc, 2 chapters of books, and over 150 patents granted or pending. |
